SkinCare Fundamentals is a woman owned and operated business that provides turnkey private label programs featuring exceptional scientifically-tested, naturally-derived skin care products. Our clients are day spas, med spas, salons, boutiques, e-commerce web sites, and solo practitioners. Our forte is developing cost effective, high quality, innovative, results-proven products that you will be proud to market as your own brand. Our turnkey program consists of research & development, formulation, manufacturing, packaging, and label design with an option for blind drop shipping services.

 1. CONSULTATION

The first step of the private label process is getting to know you.  That’s why the initial consultation is so important. During this first meeting, we will discuss your vision – what are your goals; what is your existing branding – do you want to keep it, modify it, change it? – what type of packaging and labeling do you envision; what type of products are you looking for; do you want new formulations or prefer our off-the-shelf formulas; who is your clientele and ultimate target market? Answers to these questions will help us craft the perfect product line for your business.

2. PRODUCT SELECTION

We offer two categories of products: our in-stock, ready-to-go and already tested formulas or your own proprietary customized formulation.

SCF has an extensive collection of established formulations for all skin types – anti-aging, acne, hyperpigmentation, sensitive, dehydrated. All of these skin care products are available for private label – cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, masks, and sunscreens. We recommend ordering product samples to test before you decide which items you want to brand.  Our initial MOQ is only 3 units/item.

However, if you prefer to formulate your own skincare products we can create a formulation tailored to your specifications. Our MOQ on customized formulations is 1 – 5 gallons depending on the ingredients.

NOTE: All of our products are cruelty free. We never test on animals. All of our formulas are Paraben Free.

3. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Our full-time chemists operate a state-of-the-art, in-house laboratory where we conduct the majority of our research and development.

We are members of a worldwide network of experts who have access to the latest scientific discoveries in raw and synthetic materials both domestic and imported, as well as new innovative manufacturing techniques. 

Our development team utilizes a vast collection of authoritative and innovative resources to conduct research. Information sharing on Raw Material Technical Data, Material Safety Data Sheets, and Clinical Data is provided through our vendors and sister laboratories. We also utilize a wide range of certified online and academic references, as well as clinical sources.

Throughout the R&D process, our development team will collaborate with you to create effective formulations and profitable products appropriate to your target customer base.  

 4. PACKAGING

Once your product selections have been chosen, we will review your packaging options. You can choose from our collection of PVC and glass bottles - airless pumps, droppers, jars, tubes, pumps or sprayers – or select something from one of our numerous packaging sources. We will guide you through the process to ensure the right packaging is chosen for each product.

NOTE: While we have a variety of packaging options that are included in the product cost, you are welcome to use your own packaging. If needed, referrals to reputable packaging companies can be supplied.

5. LABELING

There are several options available to you when designing your packaging and labeling:

1) Creating your product labels with your logo for FREE using established templates. 

2) Developing a full-scale label design from scratch for an additional fee.

3) If you don’t already have a logo, our design team will create one for you at an additional fee.

FEES:

1) All labels are printed in-house on top-of-the-line laser printers using semi-gloss white paper. The fee per label is $.25.

2) If you prefer professionally printed labels either in paper and vinyl, we will recommend several reputable sources. 

6. MANUFACTURING

Once you have tested the samples and approved the formula we created, we will schedule production time for your products. Turn-around time can be a few days or a couple of weeks depending on receipt of ingredients, packaging, and labels.  We make every effort to reduce time-to-shelf and expedite manufacturing time to ship your products ASAP.

 All our products are made on-site at our FDA-registered manufacturing facility in Northern California, where we stringently adhere to all GMP standards during formulation, production, and post-product processes.

 All development processes are assigned lab numbers and undergo systematic testing of various actives and ingredient interaction. Samples of new products are provided to client focus groups for assessment, resulting in higher quality products, safer formulations, and competitive pricing.

 7. QUALITY ASSURANCE

 Manufacturing data and process documentation is part of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines. Therefore, each batch we produce is reviewed by a third-party company specializing in Quality Assurance Tests to strictly adhere to the parameters associated with the manufacturing and filling method to further ensure product consistency and efficacy.

 8. TESTING

At SCF, our goal is to deliver the safest and most effective products to both our customers and their marketplace. Our stringent testing and quality control standards allow us to do just that!

Our products are not only tested during development and production, but also during the filling process to ensure consistent and stable results. All of our product formulations are scrutinized for the highest quality using state-of-the-art equipment.

We offer all types of tests necessary to introduce the finish products to the market. With us you’ll have certified products delivered on time, at a price that works for you, made with high quality ingredients, with packaging that reflects your brand, and aligns with your business goals.

We regularly conduct a variety of standard tests on our products, including:

  • Specific Gravity (sg) tests
  • pH balance tests
  • Viscosity tests
  • Appearance (aesthetics) tests
  • Odor tests
  • Microbial tests
  • Stability tests
  • Selective Heavy Metal tests

These rigorous testing procedures are in place to guarantee your products have the highest quality and efficacy.

9. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

At SCF we are dedicated to assisting you through any industry red tape and regulatory compliance that may arise in either domestic or international marketplaces.

We are familiar with the global control procedures in most countries and can recommend expert assistance with all aspects of product registration.

We also provide documented certifications that may be requested, such as:

  • Certificate of Manufacture
  • Certificate of Free sale
  • BSE Certificates
  • GMP Certificates
  • Certificate of Analysis
  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
  • Returned and Salvaged Products

10. BLIND DROP SHIPPING

To capture retail sales that you might not have access to, we have begun offering Blind Drop Shipping Services. Our clients love it, and they are now generating income they didn’t have before.

We’ve actually been doing this for the past 15 years for our major catalog customers, but we now provide the service for solo practitioners with small businesses. The service is particularly helpful for professionals who have an e-commerce site or sell products through their Instagram or Facebook accounts. It enables them to build a revenue stream through retail sales without investing in on-shelf inventory. You pay for the product when your client buys it.

It’s really easy to set up. We can integrate our shipping module onto your web site (Shopify, WordPress, Squareup, etc.) to produce purchase orders and packing slips when a client buys online.  Or you can email/text the order and we will fill and ship it. The return address on the shipping label will have your company name, not ours. The client has no idea her order was shipped from a third-party warehouse. 

FEES: There is a one-time $50 fee for website integration with our shipping app. There is a $5 shipping and handling fee for each drop ship order to cover the costs of shipping materials.
